EMMA LISTER
Emma trained at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet School where she performed many of the full-length classics as well as repertoire by George Balanchine, Hans van Manen, Mark Godden and John Neumeier. On moving to England, Emma danced with the English National Ballet, The National Ballet of Ireland and English Youth Ballet where she was a principal artist for ten years, dancing all the major classical ballet leads (Giselle, Swan Lake, Nutcracker, etc.). Her guesting work has taken her from Alaska to Buckingham Palace, Bermuda, Malta and Lapland.
Her rehearsal director/assistant choreographer work includes The National Ballet of Ireland, Ludovic Ondiviela, multiple Gandini Juggling productions, Seeta Patel and both Kirill Burlov and Hubert Essakow at The Print Room, London
Emma is also co-founding director of Makeshift Company, which devises full-length, mixed arts theatre pieces. Makeshift Company’s first piece, Insomniac’s Fable, premiered in 2016 and has since toured the UK and Finland. Their second piece, Ghost Town, will premiere in 2022.
Alongside her work in dance Emma is fully a qualified Pilates Foundation Instructor, holds a BA HONS in Arts & Humanities from the Open University and is the host of MOVERS SHAKERS MAKERS, a performing arts podcast.
